Believe or not, this striking red-brick and ivy-covered hotel was built with the proceeds of a bet! In 1865, a racehorse called Ely won the prestigious Ascot Gold Cup. The hotel was then named in their honour by the delighted race-goer. Recently updated and lovingly refurbished throughout, you’ll find it’s still a sure bet for a fabulous stay.
